 Fiddle Leaf Figs

Fiddle Leaf Figs are admired for their large, dark green leaves and are popular as natural home decor. They thrive indoors in bright, well-lit spots and can also be grown outside on a patio in warm weather, but avoid direct sunlight.

Care Instructions

Light: Place your Fiddle Leaf Fig in a bright location with filtered light. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn, and rotate the plant occasionally to ensure even growth. If you notice leaves dropping, it might be a sign that it needs more light.

Watering: Water the plant when the top 2 inches of soil are dry. Water thoroughly, but less frequently—about every 10 days to a month. Check soil moisture by inserting your finger up to the second knuckle; if it feels dry, it’s time to water. Ensure the plant has good drainage and avoid letting it sit in standing water. Using a soil moisture meter can help you gauge when to water.

Overwatering: Be cautious not to overwater, as this can lead to root rot. Allow the soil to dry out between waterings to avoid damage and disease.

Fertilizing: Feed the plant during spring and summer with a liquid houseplant food like Happy Happy House Plant Food. 

Soil: Use well-drained soil. Fiddle Leaf Figs are okay being root-bound, so you can place the pot inside a larger decorative container. Transplant to a larger pot only when the roots start wrapping around the edge of the current pot and do not upsize the pot more than 2 inches at a time. 

Cleaning: Keep the leaves dust-free by wiping them with a damp washcloth. Clean the leaves monthly to prevent pests and maintain their shine.
