Fire Ant Control: Fight fire ants effectively with a simple homemade remedy. Mix 2 oz. of orange oil, 4 oz. of soil conditioner, and 4 oz. of molasses into 1 gallon of water. Drench this mixture over the fire ant mounds to help keep them at bay.

Ferns Love Fish: Boost your fern’s health with a nutritious watering solution. Combine 4 tablespoons of liquid fish emulsion with 1 gallon of water. This concoction provides essential nutrients that ferns love!

Spider Mites Management: To control spider mites, use a spray made from 4 tablespoons of liquid seaweed and 1 gallon of water. Thoroughly spray the plants, making sure to target the underside of the leaves where spider mites often hide.

Transplant Tonic: When transplanting, support your plants with a mix of 2 tablespoons of liquid seaweed and 1 teaspoon of SUPERTHRIVE per gallon of water. This blend promotes strong growth and helps plants adjust to their new location.

Maintenance Mix: For ongoing plant care, use 2 tablespoons of liquid seaweed and 1/2 teaspoon of SUPERTHRIVE in 1 gallon of water. This mixture is ideal for both indoor and outdoor plants, including trees, shrubs, flowers, and veggies. Note that seaweed can stain, so handle with care indoors.

• Seaweed and SUPERTHRIVE are packed with vitamins, micronutrients, and growth hormones, but they do not act as fertilizers.

No, they are different. Corn meal is an organic fungicide used to control algae in ponds or lawns, while corn gluten meal is a pre-emergent that prevents seeds from germinating and also provides nitrogen (9-0-0).

Q2: What is Diatomaceous Earth (D.E.)?
Diatomaceous Earth is made from the fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of microscopic aquatic plant. When dry, its sharp particles can dehydrate and kill soft-bodied insects. It’s safe for warm-blooded animals and earthworms and is not a poison. Insects need to come in contact with D.E. to be affected.

Kind Killers:

• BT (Bacillus thuringiensis): Often referred to as mosquito dunks, this bacterial insecticide targets mosquito larvae without harming plants, animals, or people. Each dunk treats 100 sq. ft. of water and lasts for 30 days.
• Yellow Sticky Traps: These traps attract and capture small insects like aphids and whiteflies, which are drawn to the color yellow and get stuck on the adhesive strips.
• Diatomaceous Earth: This white powder, made from diatom shells, effectively controls slugs, aphids, and other soft-bodied pests. Reapply after heavy rain.
