Succulents

Succulents are incredibly versatile plants. With their shallow roots, they need minimal water and can thrive in drought conditions. They come in a variety of shapes and colors, looking attractive even without flowers. Succulents can be used in many creative ways, from table arrangements to living sculptures. Explore different ways to display these unique plants around your home.

Pothos

Pothos are hardy and popular houseplants known for their heart-shaped, glossy green leaves. They grow trailing vines that can reach up to 40 feet in the wild but usually stay around 6-10 feet in containers. Pothos can tolerate neglect and low light but prefer bright, indirect light. Too much light can cause them to lose their rich color. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, keeping it evenly moist but allowing it to dry out between waterings.

Snake Plants / Mother-in-Law’s Tongue

Snake plants are nearly impossible to kill. Their upright leaves give a clean look and they thrive in various lighting conditions, making them easy to place anywhere in your home. Known for their air-purifying abilities, snake plants prefer dry conditions and need infrequent watering. Water thoroughly once a month.

Spider Plant

Spider plants are among the easiest air-purifying indoor plants to grow, perfect for beginners or forgetful owners. They love bright, indirect light and produce shoots that grow into baby spider plants, known as spiderettes.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is not only easy to care for but also offers health benefits. Its leaves contain a clear gel with vitamins, enzymes, and compounds that can help with wound healing, antibacterial needs, and inflammation. Keep an aloe vera plant in your kitchen window for quick relief from burns.

Rubber Plant

The rubber plant is easy to care for and adapts well to low light, cooler temperatures, and low humidity. It’s great at removing indoor toxins, including formaldehyde.

Peace Lily

Peace lilies are easy to maintain and bloom throughout much of the summer. They are known for their air-purifying qualities and fresh scent. They prefer moist soil and a shady spot. Water them regularly as they will droop when thirsty. Note: Peace lilies are toxic to pets.
